About Co-Production

What does Co-production Mean?

Co-production means to make something together

Co-production for this project is about working together, Sharing control and power

Working together to make the housing plan happen

Everyone has something to give to their community

Together we can help each other

We all get the support we need

We can make friends and meet people who can support us

We can plan how to meet our own needs

Together we can all learn and share and support each other

Co-production helps us to learn about the  things we can do for each other without spending money

We can learn to help each other in many ways

Some people swap skills to help each other

Some people swap time and have set up a timebank

A timebank is where you can give your time to help someone else

And then someone else will give time back to help you

Co production is more than talking to people, more than people having their say, more than being in a group.

It is about sharing control and responsibility, having an equal say in making decisions

Co production will help people to feel better about speaking with people about where they would like to live

And get the support that they need to make their housing plan happen

By the end of this project we hope people will feel:-

They have real choice in their lives

In control of making changes

Better informed to say yes to what they want and say no to things they don’t want

Know who can help and how

Understand their needs and desires better

Learning Skills and being Confident

If you join in and help make the housing plan we will learn about the skills you have already and help you learn new ones

We will learn about how confident you feel and if you feel more confident or have learnt new skills over time

This will help us to see how  co-production helps people to take control of their lives.
